P.S iDraw pen plotter belongs to UUNATEK Limited Company
I'm quite impressed by how well this pen plotter performs. I was expecting to have a harder time assembling it but unlike the * Drawbot, it is already mostly preassembled so only a few steps to get it running. The build quality is good, as expected between the Drawbot and the Axidraw.....All in all, this feels like the type of gear I'd have loved to get started on when I jumped into generative art. Convolutional neural networks and data augmentation strategies are tuned, producing a model of 87.12% accuracy for the verification of 2,640 human signatures. Two approaches are used to successfully attack the model with false-acceptance of forgeries. Robotic arms (Line-us and iDraw) physically copy real signatures on paper, and a conditional Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) is trained to generate signatures based on the binary class of ‘genuine’ and ‘forged’. The 87.12% error margin is overcome by all approaches; prevalence of successful attacks is 32% for iDraw 2.0, 24% for Line-us, and 40% for the GAN.
Uuna Tek’s iDraw XY plotter is a versatile machine, specially designed to imitate handwriting. Like the previous plotters, it’s based on AxiDraw pen plotter and is a very popular alternative. It not only allows writing with different types of pens, but also laser engraving on paper, leather, and wood.
There are two reasons that you might choose an iDraw 2.0 pen plotter over those crafting machines. The first is that it can work with thick and rigid materials, like wood, instead of just materials like paper. The second is that it is hackable. A crafting machine isn’t meant for modification or tinkering, but the iDraw 2.0 is ripe for hacking.
That said, I am very impressed with the iDraw H A3. I think it’s better than the AxiDraw at many of the things it does, and it opens up a lot of possibilities with its ability to exert extra pressure on the pen. On top of that, most iDraw device & accessory combinations are cheaper than AxiDraw.
A special feature are two springs at the pen holder plate that add additional pressure on the pen and increase the interaction between the surface of the paper and the pen. The results are more bold and vivid drawings. In general, this is a very good pen plotter, it does exactly what you expect, it delivers very precise drawings.
Of course I’m planning on using much more than a pen when I work on my future projects. I’d like to experiment with markers, paintbrushes, and of course a laser once I figure out where to get one. ....I’m impressed with how this pen plotter can draw such thin and precise lines. By NADYA PRIMAK
This lead me to the Uunatek IDraw, a pen plotter and laser engraving combo with a price point fitting of a beginner, but with an impressive performance and workflow fitting an expert. Translating generative art to paper has always been difficult, but the IDraw might be one of the easiest ways to get it right.
iDraw pen plotter was easy to assemble and is simple to use. It's a lot of fun to plot drawings using Inkscape. I also use iDraw to plot our computer-generated drawings I programming using Processing. I was surprised over the accuracy of iDraw. Lines are always accurate with never no gaps or misalignments when the pen lifts up and down off the paper during drawing. The other thing I like with iDraw is all the options you have when drawing with Inkscape. You will not get bored with iDraw!
The first thing I liked was the one-year warranty and their partners. One being the Austin Independent School District (I live near Austin TX). Once I received the iDraw 2.0 pen plotter and set it up I noticed the space that was needed for it. It was more compact and did not take up as much space as the AxiDraw A3 and has a better design. The pause button and power switch are in a better and more convenient place. It also uses a Stepper Motor to raise and lower the pen that does not have to be replaced unlike the AxiDraw plastic gear pen motor.
It's faster than other existing pen plotter, sufficient pen height and robust pen up/down mechanism, in addition positioning accuracy might be better than others. I started re-selling this to Japanese customers with my own SVG creation web service.
1. Higher Precision and Speed, Time-saving and High-efficient
Replacing the 2 servo motors with 3 stepper motors, the handwriting, plotting, lasering speed is 3-4 times than iDraw 1.0, it can write around 500-600 characters per minutes and the repeat positioning is 0.1mm, and the precision of step motors is 0.01mm
2. Wireless Connectivity, Say Goodbye to Clutter
Connected with Bluetooth or via USB cable, iDraw Pen Plotter can be controlled at ease. No more limited to the space, now you can control in distance. Check the bluetooth guide here: >>>
3. Better Compatibility with High Power Laser Head, Explore More Possibility
After upgraded the metal structure, this version provides more stable performance when mounted with different laser heads. Now we have 500mW/2500mW/5000mW options for you to laser on different materials like wood, acrylic, metal, food, glass, leather, stone and more. It supports greyscale laser, which brings more details i
4. Limit Switch, Power On/Off and Pause Buttons Give You Safer and More Convenience
Are you tired of looking for the start point again and again when you want to do duplicate jobs like writing invitation letters for all relatives? The limit switch can help you to find the beginning point each time. It's unnecessary to unplug the power cable to start or stop the working machine with Power On/Off but
5. Better for Repeat Jobs or Your Small Business
If you need to write multiple posters or invitation letters before Christmas in handwriting style, or you want to sell some generative arts online with frame, or sell some DIY cups or cellphone case in the street, with iDraw 2.0, it's unnecessary for you to buy those products any more, you can print or write them on your own. Why not open your shop
6. Support Over 100 Fonts, You Can Customize Your Fonts Too
The biggest feature of iDraw 2.0 is to imitate your handwriting to any flat surface you want with 100+ different free fonts. If you have personal handwriting fonts, you can upload to customize your style at ease. The machine imitates the movement of a hand, it tracks each letter. You can write/print on small boxes, word, cardboard, etc. I
7. Open-source Free Software with Lifetime Update, Best STEAM Programming Robots for Students and Teachers, Geeks, Creators, DIY Enthusiasts
With Inkscape and LaserGRBL, you can program with different coding languages, including visual programing, which will be highly suitable for beginners or advanced makers.
8. Colorful Layer Painting, No More Just White and Black
Most of generative arts are just white and black, with iDraw 2.0, you will have a colorful world by layer printing function.
